Courses Available at the Centre

A range of courses are available for Sea Cadets at the Centre, including sailing, powerboating, paddlesport, rowing, archery, and cycling. These are made available for Units to see on Westminster and also are advertised on our Facebook page. They can also be found on the Sea Cadet Portal. Units and Districts are encouraged to use Derwenthaugh for their basic boating qualifications.  Advanced qualifications can be done at the Centre, but through Area Courses. 

 

The courses are available for Sea Cadets only. If you wish to book a private course please contact the Principal.

 

Costs for courses for Sea Cadets are in line with HQ protocol and will be payable through the Sea Cadet National Booking Centre or via the Portal.

 

Units who carry out evening boating at the Centre in the summer months, and who have an RYA qualified Powerboat Instructor who has been approved by the Chief Instructor/Principal, will be able to train their Cadets to RYA Powerboat Level 1. Course material for this can be found here.
