Booking the centre

Updated January 2020

The Boat Station is available throughout the year for weekend courses, whole week courses, and can also be used during the summer evenings by Units who wish to Parade there. There is, of course, a standard fee of £200 for Units wishing to do this. Units are encouraged to use the Asset Booking Form in order to book the facilities they wish to use on Parade nights. Every endeavour will be made to provide the facilities requested, however it is expected that when more than one Unit wishes to Parade on the same evening, then the Units will join together to share resources.

Boat Station Staff will also be on hand to lend assistance, although may not be available to Instruct without prior warning.

Boat Station courses are listed on Westminster under Derwenthaugh Boat Station and can also be found on the Centre's Facebook Page.

Any courses booked on Westminster should be accompanied by a T25 plus advised deposit or full balance at no later than one week before the closing date please. These should be sent to the Boat Station Administrator at the address displayed on Westminster.

Booking the Accommodation

The attached spreadsheets for 2020 and 2021 indicates the dates that may be available for booking the Centre. This can be done by contacting the Boat Station Principal. The booking will be made and a place reserved; however this can only be confirmed with a non-refundable booking deposit of £100, until this is received the dates will remain available to others. If there is a second request for that date before the deposit is received, you will be advised of a conflict. Please note, as it is a working document, the spreadsheet is available as guidance only, however we will endeavour to keep the spreadsheet as up to date as possible on the website. For those wishing to use the Centre for boating purposes, you are advised to check that the tide times are suitable to your training plan. A link to the Port of Tyne tide table is given below. It is also advisable to check the availability of boats as these can occasionally be booked out to local Units.

Booking the Training Centre

The Training Centre may be booked in conjunction with the accommodation building, or separately should day-running training be required.

For non-accommodated training that is not on the Boat Station Section on Westminster, please contact the Boat Station Chief Instructor.

Booking the Boats

As we have multi users at the Centre, boats must be booked at the same time as the above bookings are made. Bookings that have already been made can be seen on the attached spreadsheets for 2020 and 2021, and boats can be booked by filling in a Boat Booking Form. The Boat Station Administrator will respond to your booking as soon as possible to confirm the booking has been successful.
